Since originally recording a version of Little John on my debut EP, I revisited the song and added another verse and different musical arrangements for Ghosts Be Free.

Little John cried out in the morning / Snow wet from the spring time sun / Mothers gone, her train came early / Never held her new born son / Some child is born of silver / Some child is born of mud / No hand from death delivered / No tale not told in blood / Go west when the field runs fallow / Far from the church and law / No hat and a coat that’s borrowed / King of spades and the luck of draw

from Ghosts Be Free, released September 19, 2012
Sean Burns (guitar, vocals), Courtney Browne (vocals), Todd Sickafoose (upright bass), Zach Gill (keys), Aaron Kierbel (drums), Lebo (Weissenborn slide), Dave Mihaly (percussion), claps (Scott McDowell, Sean Burns, Aaron Kierbel)
